How Did You Do on the Halloween Candy Quiz?
Some of those were easy. If you have ever eaten a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup or broken apart a Kit Kat, you had a few points waiting for you. But candy gets surprisingly strange once you start looking beyond what is printed on the front of the wrapper.
A candy once marketed as Chicken Feed became a Halloween classic. A famous chocolate bar took its name from a family horse. Milk Duds owe their name to a manufacturing problem, while the tiny paper strip sticking out of a Hershey’s Kiss has its own official name. Even the familiar candies we have seen for years can hide some very odd stories.
